When Budd took his first mechanical drawing class in high school he knew that the combination of his love for geometry and an aptitude for spatial reasoning might actually be put to practical use and lead to a career that he might enjoy. While the majority of Budd’s career has been centered on design and construction, he was approached by a Navy recruiter while attending college. The thought of flying for the Navy had crossed his mind in the past, but until it was explained to him, he never realized that some of the same skill-sets that make good Architects also make good military fighter pilots. After a debilitating ear injury, Budd went back to what he knew best – design & construction.
Budd has B.S. degrees in Architecture and Building Science & Management from Clemson University and has spent the past 40 years managing project teams at the project and executive levels. In 2020, Budd joined George Knuckles and Cam Perdue to start CWI Contracting.
Cam is a native of the State of Georgia, and graduated with honors from Kennesaw State University at Southern Polytechnic in 2010. Cam began his professional career in 2005, rebuilding residential communities and small businesses in Biloxi Mississippi and New Orleans Louisiana in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. In 2007 he enrolled at Kennesaw State University at Southern Polytechnic while interning with Evergreen Construction and US Cost. In 2010, he graduated with honors, earning a B.S. in Construction Management, a Minor in Business Administration, a Nuclear Power Plant Construction Certification, and as the President of the AACE. Upon graduation, he began working for The Beck Group, and in 2017 took over as the Operations Manager for Orion Design Build. In 2020, Cam joined the other managing partners to start CWI Contracting.
